The Government has no information about the victims of "dengue "... Health launches anti-epidemic spraying campaign in Aden

The Ministry of Health on Tuesday launched a campaign to combat "dengue fever" in response to the epidemic that recently spread in Aden.

Dr. Ali al-Walidi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Medical care, told al-Masdar Online that the ministry has launched a campaign to combat dengue fever in phases aimed at confronting the disease that recently spread in the city of Aden.

According Al-Walidi, the ministry launched the spraying campaign in the eight Aden directorates in order to hinder the spread of the epidemic.

"The spraying campaign will be followed by the third phase, which will focus on health workers in public and private hospitals in order to train on therapeutic policy and methods of dealing, Al-Walidi added  in a statement to Al-Masdar online.

This comes in conjunction with preparations for the launch of health education campaigns in residential neighborhoods, streets, facilities, government installations to raise awareness of the dangers of "dengue fever", which last week claimed the lives of three people in Aden, according to information obtained by Al-Masdar online from a medical source.

Al-Masdar online tried to communicate with more than one ministry of health official to obtain information about the magnitude of the epidemic or statistics of the number of cases and victims who died because of the epidemic, but none of the official sources provided us with any statistics and a medical source likely that the ministry does not have accurate information On the spread of the epidemic, the movement of the official medical system, despite the attention of international organizations, is unable to cope with the epidemic, thereby limiting its spread.

According to Al-Walidi, the Ministry of Health, with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), launched the Entomological investigation campaign on the 4th of this month, the first movement after the outbreak of dengue fever in the city of Aden.
