Local residents told Al-Masdar online that three women died in the past 24 hours in Crater southern city of Aden, in the south of the country, as a result of high temperatures in the coastal city, while some of them were suffering from pressure and diabetes.

Residents said that three women died in Tawilah neighborhood in the center of the old City of Crater in the past hours, respectively, after they were suffocated by high temperatures in conjunction with power cuts in the neighborhoods where they live.

The southern coastal city is witnessing a rise in temperatures during the month of June, in parallel with the increasing number of hours of power outages from the city, while local residents said that government agencies had not fulfil  their promises on the issue of improving electricity service after they had promised the people of repairing the main power plants in the city.

However, the elderly and people with hypertension, heart disease and diabetes are facing another kind of challenge in the city, which during the summer months in previous years witnessed deaths among the elderly and the sick.
